Tamegroute plate – handmade, green glazed Moroccan pottery

This plate is made of Moroccan earthenware and handcrafted using age-old techniques. The glaze consists of silicon, manganese, and copper. After being fired in an earth kiln, this creates the distinctive green color. Sometimes the copper is replaced by iron oxide, which makes the glaze more brown or olive green.

Why does each plate look different?

Because the plate is handmade, bubbles, scratches, color variations in the green, and small spots in the glaze are to be expected. They are part of the handmade character of each piece.
