In a time when deviant groups spread their poison and the media associates terrorism with Salafism, it is important that people know exactly what Salafism entails. Salafism is nothing more than following Islam according to the understanding of the Salaf (the predecessors). This refers to the first three generations from the time of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

After all, who would know the religion better than those who lived with the Prophet and experienced the revelations? The Prophet also warned us that Islam would split into 73 sects, only one of which is on the Straight Path. Therefore, it is of great importance to know what the characteristics of the Saved Group are. The Prophet (PBUH) said:

“…My community will split into seventy-three sects. All of these (sects) will be in the Fire, except for one.” They asked: ‘Which group is that, O Messenger of Allah?’ He replied: “(That is the group that follows) that which I and my companions are upon today.”
