The key to Paradise

In a narration of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, it is stated:

”Verily, the key to Paradise is ‘Laa ilaaha illa-laah’ (There is no god worthy of worship but Allah).”

A group of scholars has stated that this means that ‘Laa ilaaha illa-laah’ is a reason for entering Paradise, a salvation from the Hellfire, and a consequence of the fulfillment of these (matters). However, this cannot occur unless its conditions are met and that which hinders it or nullifies it is absent.
