Over Tagines
Looking to buy a Moroccan tagine? You will find over 50 tagines here: handmade earthenware cooking tagines, aluminium tagines for induction, and serving tagines for presenting dishes at the table. Sizes range from Ø 26 to 35 cm.
Which tagine is right for you?
- Earthenware cooking tagine: the traditional tagine, handmade in sizes from Ø 26 to 35 cm, such as the Slaoui and the family tagine. On gas or an electric hob, you must use it with a heat diffuser.
- Glazed or unglazed: an unglazed tagine, such as the 33 cm Natural with handle, absorbs moisture; you usually soak it in water for a few hours before first use. A glazed tagine is easier to keep clean.
- Tagine for induction: aluminium tagines such as the Marrakesh and the Saffron can be placed directly on induction. Prefer earthenware? Then choose a set with an induction adapter.
- Serving tagine: a tagine dish, such as the Ø 28 cm version, is placed on the table for serving.
- Value pack or gift: sets with spices and a heat diffuser or induction adapter, and gift sets including a cookbook and preserved lemons.
How to cook in a tagine
Place a layer of onions at the bottom, top with meat or fish and vegetables, and season with, for example, ras el hanout, cumin, or ginger. Put the lid on and let everything simmer slowly over low heat. Steam condenses in the conical lid and drips back down, keeping the dish juicy. Let earthenware cool down completely after use before washing.
You can find the spices under herbs and spices. If you are only looking for tagines for cooking, take a look at cooking tagines.
